JP's handicapping approach relies primarily on Thoro-Graph performance figures, a tool he believes provides the most accurate read on a horse's true performance. He also factors in race shape, workout reports and trip handicapping. A firm believer that ticket construction is just as important as handicapping itself, JP spends equal time crafting his wagers as he does analyzing the races.

RACE 7: A)1,2,6,10
The 4 horses I like are hard to separate but feel strongly that one of them will win this. #2 Proof He Rides ran a great race just after Christmas and has been working well which likely means he will fire again. #1 Nesso's Lastharrah seems to be coming around again and also have been working welll in the morning. #6 Cuban Confusion has been off since the start of October. This 5-year-old gelding has been working lights out in the morning - should be there with a good trip out of the 1 hole. #10 Son Of A Birch might be my top selection, this horse has a JP-Indicator which is a good predictor of when a horse will fire.
RACE 8: A) 2,6. B) 7,1
#2 Winston Ave. is a 3-year-old against older making his 3rd lifetime start, 1st time gong long and 1st time Lasix, all these factors point to this horse running well. #6 Eruption ran a sneaky good race last time and is making the 2nd start as a 3 year old. It appears the light bulb went off last time. This horse is working up a storm in the mornings, a repeat of his last race and he is right there. #7 Fausto is a former Shirreffs horse who appears to rounding into good form; a repeat of a race about 11 months ago put this 5-year-old gelding in the mix. #1 Latitude is 3rd of this 4-year-old colts campaign. 1st time going long on the dirt, and comes off a good race going long on turf, only downside it was 14 days ago.
RACE 9: A) 7,8 B) 2,3
#7 Prime Artist is a French Bred making his 3rd race in Socal and appears to be rounding into form. #8 Menel'S Tune is making his 3rd lifetime start and 2nd as a 3 year old. #2 Nezha is a Baffert turfer who has been running great. #3 Off Your Rocker is a firster and may get a piece at a huge price.
