Our Free Picks earned a $492.30 profit on the Late Pick 3 and Daily Double! We ended the day recommending the 13-1 longshot in the nightcap that paid $27.50 to win.

Let's finish this first weekend of the Classic Meet off with a bang!
Race 7: A:6,5 B: 9,1
#6 Motorious is deadly in the downhill turf at Santa Anita. This 7 year old gelding is back to his preferred distance. #5 Yellow Card is an improving 4 year old who is racing 2nd off a layoff with improving speed figures. #9 Gas Me Up is an interesting horse in this race. Peter Eurton takes this horse back from Kevin Attard who predominantly raced the last year and a half at woodbine. This horse is also improving and despite going long on the turf, he has a win at Woobine at the 6.5 furlong distance.
Race 8: A: 9,5,4 8 B: 7,8
#9 Oubabe has been a better horse since Leonard Powell claimed this 6 year-old gelding. He immediately put this horse long on the turf and now is cutting back to 1 mile and on dirt. There is a series of good works and Prat takes the call. I am thinking it is "go" time. #5 Team Player is making her 3rd lifetime start and going back long on the dirt where he started his career. This is a 3 year old who just broke her maiden, so definitely will need to jump up to beat these. #4 Strongerthanbefore is a 5 year-old making his 4th start and 1st time long which is usually their best race. I am intrigued at 12-1. I will make #7 Mr. Disrespectful and #8 Known Idea as my defensive B's. They are the class and the speed of the race and will use them in back-up tickets so I don't get knocked out.
Race 9: A: 4,5,11 B: 8,1
#4 Rio Grande is clearly the horse to beat. This is a Baffert turfer, which is not his fortay. This horse woke up last out when he went to the turf and went 8 panels. I think this horse has more speed but tends to always start slow. If JJ can get this horse to break, its clear sailing. For our B's, lets use #5 Charlie's Curlin which is a 2 year old colt making its all important 3rd lifetime start. This horse is going long for the first time, which is usually a horse's best effort. #11 Medici, currently on the AE List, needs some help to get into the race. This horse is stuck out in the 11 hole, but has the speed to clear the field and is actually cutting back from his last 8 furlong turf race where he also broke from a far outside hole, that time it was from PP #12. #8 Essos is a $475,000 son of Liam's Map who is trained by Glatt and its first start was just a jog around the track. This horse is changing surface and distance and will likely run a much better race. Let's also include #1 Mendel's Tune, who is a Sadler firster, who is hitting at a 38% win rate with 2 year olds.
